Atrocity

SOMEONE HAS ADJUSTED MY CHAIR....

ok, ok, i know that doesn't sound horrible, but it really is. When working in a paleontology lab, especially one dealing with foraminifera there are a few rules...

1... Do not use Hydrochloric Acid to clean things, or use it anywhere there may possibly be or will be forams (they are made of CaCO3, which will dissolve when you add acid to them)

2...Do not adjust any chair that is not yours. Everyone who works in the lab has their own chair with their name on a piece of purple tape on the back, so you don't get confused. When you are going to be sitting in front of a microscope for 4+ hours you need your chair to be adjusted correctly or else, your back will kill you! It takes a while to get the chair perfect, usually a few days of scope work.... so once you have it adjusted you do not touch the adjustments!! Your back will thank you!!!

3... If there is a sample underneath the microscope, and no one else in the lab, do not use that microscope!!! The person may be counting that sample, and they are sometimes in water, so if you move the sample, all the sediment/forams move around, and that person will have to recount the entire sample... this really sucks when you are almost finnished with counting a sample!!!!!!

there fore... someone adjusting my chair is a big deal...(i know who did it, there is only one other person working in the lab and Charlotte wouldn't do that).... ARG!!! Hope I can get it adjusted again, apparently I need to have a little talk with him to make sure he fully understands this rule! and why!!!!!1
